WHO ARE WE?
Welcome to Avannabel Baby- a unique baby boutique featuring fun things for babies, toddlers and moms! We strive to be your favorite e-commerce boutique and appreciate your interest. Our business was conceived January 2006 amid diaper changes, play dates, and toddler tantrums. Like many of our customers, we are mothers raising small children. I have experienced both the highs and lows of being a mother while working outside the home and also while being a stay at home mommy. I longed for an alternative to the "mommy war". Fortunately, in today's world, we as women and mothers have many choices. I, like many other moms, discovered the personal and professional fulfillment of doing both- working and being home with my children. I hope to show my own daughter that we as mothers DO have choices and there is no right or wrong answer. Avannabel Baby hopes to be much more than just a store, but also a vehicle to support and promote each other as women and mothers.
OUR MISSION
Our company philosophy is all about empowering women in every way possible. We are committed to supporting other female owned businesses, especially those working to support families while fulfilling their creative dreams and entrepreneurial endeavors. I have especially sought out "mommy inventors" who have designed a product to make life easier for busy moms. I am proud to say all of the products in our store are from female owned companies (just to be fair- we do have one full time dad!). Most of us are caught in the practicalities of being a mother while yearning to still be hip and stylish. Thus, Avannabel Baby was created....."fun things for the hip and stylish baby", and mom too!
As part of our mission to empower women, we support a national organization committed to helping women and families. Sadly, many of us have been affected by domestic violence or know someone who is a victim of domestic violence. Avannabel Baby is also proud to be a St. Jude Partner in Hope sponsor. Children are our business and we feel it necessary to support worthy children's charities such as St. Jude's Hospital. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with pediatric cancer. Biographical information about Avannabel Baby founder/owner:
Jennifer graduated from The University of Missouri in 1994 with a degree in counseling psychology. Her first job was in sports marketing. But the tedious nature of office work led her to Delta Air Lines. She traveled the world for 10 years and then happily settled down after the birth of her second child. Avannabel Baby is her second foray into entrepreneurism. She previously owned a pet sitting business. Jennifer resides in Rocklin, California (Sacramento) with her husband, son, daughter and 2 German Shorthaired Pointers.
